- There was a large analysis of the economical situation of the computer
- industry in "de Volkskrant" yesterday. It focused its attention on
- IBM, Compaq and Escom. First it was said that things were generally
- going bad in the industry, especially in large markets like the U.S.A.
- and Germany.
- The problems that Escom had were caused by two things:
- -A "consumer strike" during christmas, meaning that a lot of stock
- remained unselled. The value of these PCs are decreasing rapidly.
- -The buying of Rumbelows.
-
- No mention of Amiga (for better or worse).
-
- Escom were confident that they could get back on top again.
